FREEPORT, Texas — Halloween festivities are returning to Freeport this week as the city prepares to host its annual Fright Night celebration, giving local families an opportunity to get into the spooky spirit ahead of October 31.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 22, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with activities taking place at Freeport Municipal Park and Freeport RiverPlace.

Organized through the City of Freeport Recreation Center, Fright Night is one of the city's recurring seasonal celebrations, bringing residents together for an evening centered around Halloween traditions and community participation.

Halloween Festivities Return to Freeport

With Halloween just over a week away, Freeport's Fright Night is set to provide an early opportunity for residents to celebrate the holiday.

The city's recreation guide describes Fright Night as a seasonal event featuring Halloween attractions such as a haunted house, trunk-or-treat activities, costume and decorating contests, and candy.

While those activities are associated with the city's annual celebration, Gulf Coast Times has not independently confirmed the complete lineup for Thursday's event.

The event has previously featured additional attractions, including music and family-oriented entertainment, although organizers have not confirmed whether all of those activities will return this year.

Two Locations Will Host the Celebration

According to the City of Freeport's official event information, this year's festivities will take place at two locations:

Freeport Municipal Park, located at 421 North Brazosport Boulevard, and Freeport RiverPlace, located at 733 Mystery Harbor Lane.

Both locations are included in the city's announcement for the three-hour Halloween celebration.

Residents planning to attend should be aware that the event will take place at two sites and should check with organizers for information about where specific activities will be located.

The city has also issued a public notice stating that members of the Freeport City Council may attend the celebration. The notice specifies that no official council business will be conducted during the event.

What Families Should Know Before Attending

Families planning to attend are encouraged to check the city's latest announcements before heading out Thursday evening.

Residents may want to bring their children's Halloween costumes and candy buckets, depending on the activities they plan to participate in.

Parents should also consider comfortable footwear and appropriate clothing for an evening outdoors.

Details regarding admission, parking arrangements, individual activity schedules and any participation requirements have not been independently confirmed by Gulf Coast Times.

For additional information, residents can contact the Freeport Recreation Center at 979-233-6061.

Halloween Season Continues Across Brazoria County

Freeport's Fright Night is among the community celebrations taking place throughout Brazoria County as Halloween approaches.

The city regularly organizes seasonal events designed to bring residents together, with Fright Night joining other annual community activities hosted through its parks and recreation programs.

In addition to Thursday's celebration, the Freeport Historical Museum is continuing its Haunted Tales of the Texas Coast exhibition, which explores local ghost stories and locations associated with the region's mysterious past.

The museum exhibition is scheduled to continue through October 31, providing another seasonal activity for residents interested in the area's history.

With Fright Night returning Thursday, Freeport families have another opportunity to celebrate the Halloween season before the holiday arrives.

Residents can follow the City of Freeport and Freeport Recreation Center's official Facebook pages for additional event announcements and updates.
