BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas — If mosquitoes are making it hard to sit outside, work in the yard or enjoy the evening, Brazoria County residents have a way to report the problem directly to the county.
The Brazoria County Mosquito Control District allows residents to submit a mosquito problem report online. According to the county, once the form is filled out, the request is added to the district’s service request report, and crews will get to the area as soon as possible.
Residents can request mosquito spraying through the county’s Spray Request page.
The county also posts a daily spray schedule online. Brazoria County says schedules are posted by 4 p.m. and may be canceled because of weather or other unexpected conditions. Spray trucks operate from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
Mosquito Control says recent rainfall has created favorable breeding conditions across Brazoria County, and treatment locations are based on surveillance data and service requests rather than a fixed spray schedule. The district uses both truck and aerial operations when needed.
Residents should not submit spray requests by email. The county says its Mosquito Control email inbox is not monitored for service requests, and requests sent there will not be accepted. Residents with questions can call the Mosquito Control office at 979-864-1532.
Residents can also help reduce mosquito activity around their homes by dumping standing water from buckets, tires, flowerpots, gutters, birdbaths, toys and other containers where mosquitoes can breed.
For residents across Freeport, Lake Jackson, Clute, Angleton, Richwood, Surfside and the rest of Brazoria County, the fastest step is simple: submit the online request, check the daily schedule, and remove standing water wherever possible.
