CLUTE, Texas — Brazoria County residents are being invited to come together Sunday for a large community benefit honoring Skarlett and providing support for her family during what organizers described as an unimaginable time.
The benefit will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Clute Park, 100 Parkview Drive in Clute.
Organizers say the event is intended to send one central message: Skarlett’s family is not facing the road ahead alone.
Community members are encouraged to attend, donate if they are able, share information about the benefit and help surround the family with support while honoring Skarlett’s life and memory.
Full day of food, auctions and family activities planned
The benefit is expected to include a wide range of food, entertainment and activities for adults and children.
Scheduled attractions include:
- Barbecue plates
- Pulled-pork sandwiches
- Food trucks
- A live auction
- A silent auction
- A bake sale
- A vendor market
- A car show
- A bounce house
- An obstacle course
- A dunking booth
- A reptile zoo
- Music and live entertainment
The live auction is expected to begin between 1:30 and 2 p.m.
Organizers described the gathering as a true community benefit, with the goal of bringing residents together to support the family and participate in something meaningful.
Event focused on supporting the family
While Skarlett’s death has also prompted discussion about traffic safety near local schools, organizers emphasized that the primary purpose of Sunday’s event is to support her family and honor her memory.
Danny Duke, who is involved with the benefit, said he does not plan to make school-zone safety a formal speaking topic during the event.
However, he believes what happened has opened an important conversation about safety around local schools and hopes the discussion eventually leads to greater attention and meaningful changes.
The benefit itself is not being promoted as a traffic-safety advocacy event. Its immediate focus remains Skarlett, her family and the community members who want to stand beside them.
